The Need

In 1967, God gave the late Reverend Erbie Mangum, Jr. and his wife, Linda, the original vision for Camp Willow Run (CWR).  The founders envisioned a place that would not only offer summer camp adventures, but one which would also help participants recognize those adventures as blessings from God.  By showing youth why, and how, to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, staff members of CWR have been planting seeds intended to last a lifetime.

The Camp Willow Run experience is so meaningful, so lasting, that more than 60 percent of campers return year after year.  And the joy reflected in their children is so inspiring that parents make every effort to ensure their children’s applications arrive early enough to reserve one of the 2,000 spaces.  As a result of the tremendous increase in applications over the past 12 years, about 6,000 children/youth have been denied admission because of space constraints

The way the Lord has already used Camp Willow Run and the parent organization, Youth Camps For Christ, Inc., to influence so many thousands of lives for Jesus Christ opens our eyes and hearts to the fact that continuing and growing this ministry is an incredible opportunity to invest for eternity.  Thus, the need for an additional camp is evident.  The plan for building is underway, and the opportunity to come alongside and partner with us to make an eternal impact is here now.
