Meet our Mother/Daughter Retreat Speaker
Heather Metzger Ablondi had big dreams for her life and she has the rhinestone encrusted evening gowns to prove it. Believing she was destined to wear the Miss America crown, she devoted her life to chasing the dream of “a million girls who are more than pretty.” When that dream came crashing down, her faith was put to the test. She knew God had the power to make her dream come true, but He chose not to do so. Could she continue to trust Him with the rest of her life? Using the lessons she learned during her seven years of competition, Heather now encourages women and their daughters to seek after the ultimate crown––one that will never tarnish.
After traveling for ten years speaking to students across the country, Heather decided to pack away her suitcase upon the birth of her first daughter in 2006. Since 2011, she has shared poignant stories of God’s faithfulness and biblical wisdom in a bi-weekly religion column for Fredericksburg, VA’s Free Lance-Star newspaper and most recently served her church for two years as Groups Director. She has been married to the “most-interesting-man-in-the-world” for 15 years and is the homeschooling mom to their four preemie princesses, a dog named Bailey, and Duchess and Tiara, their two pot-bellied pigs.
Heather will be leading our sessions, speaking on the theme “A Crown that Doesn’t Tarnish”, for both the May 3-5 & May 17-19, 2019 Retreats. Visit the Mother/Daughter Retreat page for more information and to register.
