A Camp Need and a Request for Support
Hello Camp Family: Thank you for your support of this ministry through the years by attending summer camp or a retreat, serving on summer staff, or giving financially. This year has been unlike any year we have ever experienced both in our personal lives and in the life of camp. The COVID-19 pandemic has substantially impacted camp and we want to share our need with you. This year, we will have a budget shortfall as our operating revenues will be down 62%. COVID-19: May 1 Update
Hello Camp Families, We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation as it relates to summer camp at Camp Willow Springs & Camp Willow Run. North Carolina is currently under a stay at home order through May 8. Our governor has given a 3-phase plan to reopen North Carolina and will be giving an update on the timeline of this plan within the next week. Included in the update will be possible guidelines for summer camps and further information on group size limits. Summer Camp Update
We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation as it relates to summer camp at Camp Willow Springs & Camp Willow Run. Our first summer sessions are 9-weeks away and at this time we are prayerful and hopeful that summer camp will be able to continue as planned. The health and safety of our campers, guests, and staff are of utmost importance to us. We recognize that there may need to be adjustments to our summer camp schedule. May 2020 Mother/Daughter Retreats Canceled
The Mother/Daughter Retreats for May 2020 have been canceled as a result of the COVID-19 situation and the recent stay at home orders from the Governors of NC & VA. We will greatly miss having each of you here! The fees for this retreat will be fully refunded and we will begin processing the refunds on Monday, April 6. Anna and her husband Andrew moved to Greensboro, NC 8 years ago to plant Mercy Hill Church. By God’s grace the church has seen incredible growth. Summer Camp Registration: Points to Remember
Hello Camp Families! Summer camp registration opens in a few days on Monday January 27th! Registration for Camp Willow Springs will open at 10:00am. Registration for Camp Willow Run campers in rising grades 10-12 will begin at 12:00pm. Registration for CWR campers in rising grades 6-9 will open at 2:00pm. Linda Harris, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Retires
Linda Harris will be retiring from the role of Executive Director of Youth Camps For Christ, Inc. (YCFC) on December 31, 2019. She is Co-Founder of YCFC, which owns and operates Camp Willow Run (CWR) established in 1968 and Camp Willow Springs (CWS) established in 2014. Linda has worked with the organization for 51 years and has served in many roles including Camp Director and Executive Director. Linda has seen this ministry grow from serving 54 day campers in the summer of 1968 to serving 3,000 overnight campers between both CWS & CWR in summer 2019.
